A succesful event with influencers
@MarvinRose🌹, @chelsea.wornham and @melidiasdeleon... they've played in our quiz game rooms and they've loved it!
Hosting an event for influencers was a great idea because social media is how so many people find out about cool new things to do in the city (myself included!), so I’m so glad that we were able to host a large group of influencers for an event on Friday November 22nd. I went into our first influencer event here in London not knowing what to expect at all, but it ended up being such an incredible experience. We did a lot of preparation to make sure everyone had the best possible experience in Quiz Room Spitasfields: checking the smoke machines, arranging food and drink in creative ways, liaising with the media company that helped us organise the event (and letting them test out the game - they absolutely loved it!!), and before we knew it people started arriving!
It was definitely crazy busy, and the most people we’d ever had in the venue, but everyone seemed to enjoy socialising with both old and new friends. I definitely saw some friendships formed that day that will last, as everyone was so chilled out being here that they were more than happy to talk to everyone and meet new people. A lot of the content creators there really enjoyed the experience and were keen to play again, some people even played three times! (and probably would have played more if we’d let them!). Many of those attending the event had no idea what this place was or what they would actually be doing, but everyone picked up the concept very quickly, and there was definitely a lot of competition between people going on.
Quite a few people stayed around to give us their feedback by being interviewed, with one person being so passionate about this experience that they offered to be the person interviewing the rest of the influencers!
We definitely found ourselves an ambassador 😉 All the feedback we got was very positive (especially from those who won their games!), and everyone was keen to express what a genuinely great time they had with us. Some people even made it onto the world leaderboard during this event!
Someone was taking a photo next to their name on the leaderboard and said "I need to send this to my mum!"
Although I have previously worked in a similar field, this was my first ever influencer event of this scale! Our guests enjoyed our Quiz Bar with every catering and bar options. They had a great time and enjoyed the evening like a real get-together with friends.
I knew I would have to talk to a lot of people (which can definitely be overwhelming at times), and that these were people that have completely different lifestyles to my own, so I was a little bit nervous in the build up to the event, especially from already having a pretty stressful start to the week. I didn’t really have time to think about being nervous though, as I was thrown straight into the action! While it was a bit difficult to keep track of where everyone was at times, all 50 or so guests who were there were very easy to work with, respectful and listened to me during the briefing. I had some great conversations with a few people that I will remember for a long time. One person was so friendly that they decided that I needed a nickname, so they called me 'Han' for the rest of the night - normally only my mum calls me that!! 😭
I’m very grateful that everyone there made it a pleasant experience for me, and that I was able to be a good host to everyone, even if it did get pretty hectic at times - we had to remind ourselves to drink water as we were so busy! Everyone seemed to have a lot of energy (or maybe that was the alcohol?!) which made my job a lot easier - I was at ease as I could easily tell that people were having a great time without needing to do anything extra to keep people entertained.
Massive thanks to Mathilde for coming over to help from Paris - I could not have done it on my own!! We made a dream team!
I feel like I learned a lot from this experience: I learned that welcoming this many people can be stressful but so rewarding, that a lot of people really believe that the concept of Quiz Room will be a massive success in the UK market, and that influencers really love their prosecco! This was definitely a great experience and something that I can learn a lot from, both in my professional and personal life.
Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible for us here in London - looking forward to the next one! Merci beaucoup tout le monde, à la prochaine <3
